HSTA: Health Sciences & Technology Academy

The Health Sciences and Technology Academy is a 9th-12th grade math and science program which encourages aspirations, opens doors and empowers minority and disadvantaged students and rural communities. The hope of HSTA is to increase the number of African American and underrepresented high school students in West Virginia that pursue post-secondary education in the health sciences and to increase the number of health practitioners in the medically under served communities of West Virginia.

ICDI: International Center for Disability Information

The mission of the International Center for Disability Information is to perform research, training, and service programs to empower individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain meaningful employment.

JAN: Job Accommodation Network

The Job Accommodation Network is a service provided by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). JAN is one of several ODEP projects. JAN’s mission is to facilitate the employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing employers, employment providers, people with disabilities, their family members and other interested parties with information on job accommodations, entrepreneurship, and related subjects. JAN’s efforts are in support of the employment, including self-employment and small business ownership, of people with disabilities.

Office of Student Advising & Records

The Office of Student Advising & Records is an integral part of the College of Human Resources and Education. It is the starting and finishing point for undergraduate and graduate students in The College of Human Resources & Education. We prepare all forms for admissions, transfers, and graduation, and certify all students for educational permits and endorsements. We also provide academic advising to all students in the undergraduate Benedum program and graduate non-degree and certification programs. We provide transcript analyses and maintain student records for all programs except Speech Pathology & Audiology.

TLTC: Teaching & Learning Technologies Center

The Teaching & Learning Technologies Center occupies the 4th Floor of Allen Hall and supports the College of Human Resources & Education. The TLTC encompasses both the Technology Integration Center and the Learning Resources Center.

Office of Teacher Education

The College of Human Resources & Education Office of Teacher Education provides information, support, and resources to faculty and students engaged in professional education programs that lead to certification of teachers and other educational professionals, such as counselors, speech-language pathologists, and school administrators. Our aim is also to work in partnership with faculty colleagues to address program, practice, research, and policy issues relevant to the preparation of teachers and other educational specialists.

WVU PK-20 Collaboratives

The new WVU PK-20 Collaboratives website (formerly known as the “WVU Benedum Collaborative”) is currently under construction.
